Everybody Hates Me By The Chainsmokers Gets A Music Video Finally

The Chainsmokers released their new single titled Everybody Hates Me last month, and they have now launched a music video for the song as well. Filled with glaring lights and pyrotechnics, this video is wreaking havoc on YouTube right now.

Everybody Hates Me is a song which shares a glimpse into the EDM duo’s personal tribulations. Having become extremely famous pop stars now, Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart seem to be paying the price of their fame. That’s what’s visible in the lyrics of this song which highlights their struggle to have a normal life.

The hard-hitting chorus which goes “I walk into the club like, everybody hates me” is a constant reminder of their this. Over the years, The Chainsmokers have made a fan base that consists mainly of novice EDM fans. This is what has led them to be put down by hardened fans as sounding very mainstream. They are often referred to as the ‘Nickleback of EDM,’ which is something that definitely doesn’t go down well with them. And that is extremely evident through the lyrics of Everybody Hates Me.

The Chainsmokers had also taken a similar discourse with their previous songs like Sick Boy and You Owe Me. They seem to be making it obvious that they are fed up with the trials and tribulations that they are facing due to the fact that they are such big celebrities.

The music video for Everybody Hates Me looks to create a heavy mood with its lighting and pyrotechnics. It has been directed by their tour photographer Rory Kramer, and superbly captures the essence of the lyrics with its visuals.

The Chainsmokers are still at a very nascent stage of their career. They rose to prominence in 2014, and have pleased millions of fans with their music. They experienced immense success with their hit single Closer which was released in July 2016. The song topped charts worldwide, and even grabbed them a Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
