And what spells break better than drinks and food, right? We all love to dine out. Every city is overpopulated with restaurants and eateries. Our choices are limited to the sky. However, are we really well aware of the people who toil hard in heat and grease, to make our hearts as content as our tummies? Yes, you got me right; I am talking about our dear chefs!

Here is everything you need to know about the heroes of a ghost world, one that thrives on fast food and takeaways and happy weekends!

Executive chef (chef de cuisine)

He is at the apex of the hierarchy. He gets to decide everything because he is the captain. The competition to get to this position is stifling because there is only one executive chef per restaurant or chain. This position requires no fretting over details related to food prep; instead, you supervise over other chefs who work under you. Don’t we remember ifBuddhadev Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) and his ZafraniBiriyani in CheeniKum? His responsibilities also include planning and replanning the menu and ensuring it’s a well-oiled machinery!

Sous chef

There can be more than one sous chef who is usually the executive chef’s immediate sailor or the right hand. They take care of the little details and ensure everything is prepared precisely and properly.

Station chef (chef de partie)

Usually, they are in charge of just one fragment of the kitchen or menu like the salads, or entrees, or the grill even. They are supervised by the sous chef and ensure the food is put out of their station at the right time.

Fish cook (poissonier)

He usually looks after the seafood both in cooking and in preparation.

Pastry chef (patisserie)

This profession entails a very different kind of culinary training. This usually revolves around pastries, desserts, bread etc.
