Actress Sridevi passes away at age 54

The entire film fraternity is heartbroken and shocked and so are we!

Bollywood diva Sridevi passed away on Saturday night after a cardiac arrest. She was only 54.This is one of the most shocking news that has kept me awake all night! When I first got to know about the death of Sridevi at around midnight, I laughed it off thinking it was another bad joke or one of those fake news. I went back to my weekend binge-watching of my shows on Netflix.

After a while when I got the confirmation from some reliable sources, I just couldn’t believe it! Not just me but nobody actually believed it. This was no age to die! I hoped and prayed it was just a joke.

She was reportedly with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi at the time of her death. Her older daughter Jhanvi could not be with the family for the wedding as she was busy shooting for her debut film Dhadak, directed by Karan Johar.

The entire Kapoor khandaan was in (Dubai) UAE to attend the wedding ceremony of Mohit Marwah. Sridevi’s brother in law and Boney’s younger brother Sanjay confirmed the news.

Sridevi was born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan. She was a child actor and has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films before debuting in Hindi films. She is a recipient of the Padma Shri award which is the fourth highest civilian honour. She was given this award in 2013.

Sridevi will always be remembered as the Hawa Hawaii girl

Some of her most well-known films are Mr India, Lamhe, Chandni and Nagina and recent ones like English Vinglish and MOM, which also happens to be her last film. She will always be remembered as the Hawa Hawaii girl.

We are heartbroken and in total shock and at a loss for words right now. Our heart goes out to her family and all we can say right now is may her soul rest in peace. We pray for strength for her family, especially her two young daughters. Team HFT extends their heartfelt condolences to her entire family.
