As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the details of the movie except for the fact that Devgn will play the role of the antagonist in the movie. Lately, the veteran actor Kamal Hassan was asked about the recent developments regarding the same. He said that it is the director’s choice who will choose the lead actor for his movie, and that he has heard about Ajay being part of the sequel.

The movie is expected to be released in Hyderabad after the wrapping-up of ‘Big Boss Tamil’, which is hosted by Kamal Hassan himself. Hassan has played the double role of a father and a son, and had co-starred with Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar. The movie was based on the story of a freedom fighter who turns a vigilante to destroy corruption, where the father kills his corrupt son. The movie was selected as India’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Academy Awards (1996), and has brought in three National Awards, with a Best Actor Award for Kamal Hassan. It has been allegedly reported that Hassan will be paired opposite Nayanthara in the sequel.
