We bet among all the celebrity weddings that took place in 2018, it was the Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wedding which gave you the fairytale vibe. It looked like a perfect wedding with the bride in her beautiful dress and mind you not just any dress but a Ralph Lauren custom one.

Priyanka looked gorgeous in the sheer gown along with its long train. This has been one of the most special contributions by the designer considering that he has previously designed only three wedding gowns, which have been for his family.

Considering his role in bringing Nick and Priyanka together thanks to their MET gala meet, the designer broke his tradition and made one of the most gorgeous wedding gowns we have ever seen.

How Was PC’s Wedding Gown Made?

Priyanka Chopra’s stunning wedding gown took 1,826 hours of handwork by 15 artisans. It consisted of 135 satin-covered buttons, 700 spools of ivory thread, 5,600 pearl seed beads, 11,632 Swarovski crystals, and 24,12,000 high-luster sequins.

What Words Were Inscribed In The Gown?

PC’s wedding gown was not just any other wedding gown. The detailing on it was so much and all of it had a lot of meaning and thought behind it. Priyanka wanted to truly combine the two cultures she and Nick come from and on her insistence, eight words were incorporated in the embroidery which were, ‘Hope’, ‘Compassion’, the Hindu mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaay’ and their wedding date, ‘December 1, 2018’.

Just over her heart, the word ‘Love’ was carved with ivory thread and ‘Family’ was sewn along her right sleeve, the same hand where Priyanka’s tattoo of ‘Daddy’s Lil Girl’ comes along.

What’s beautiful is that Priyanka also borrowed a lace from Nick’s mother’s wedding gown which was sewn into the pattern.

At the front of the coat of the gown, she also had the groom’s full name, Nicholas Jerry Jonas while her parents’ names were sewn at the back.

Talking about the making of this dress, Ralph Lauren spoke to the RL mag saying, “This isn’t about a dress, It’s about a woman and a moment. Priyanka knows exactly who she is, and so I wanted the dress to reflect, not only her love story and the romance of India, but also her unique sensibility: strong, smart, and beautiful.”

Well, we couldn’t agree with Mr. Lauren more. PC is a genuis and we can only thank her for the beautiful fairytale wedding she has now set the goals for!
