Gone are the days when we used to see the stress, pressure, and difficulties of the police-walas in movies. Breaking the stereotypical characterisation of cops, Bollywood filmmakers are now moving a step ahead, by portraying cooler cops on silver screen, who always have their swag mode on.
We totally agree that a day in the life of a police officer is hard. But seeing them all serious all throughout a film can become a tad boring, isn’t it? Bollywood, thankfully, has finally figured out that police-walas shouldn’t be shown just tough – they could be funny, too.
Here we present to you Bollywood’s most coolest cops:
Chulbul Pandey
Chulbul Pandey played by Salman Khan, is the most thunderously crackling police officer Bollywood has ever seen. He is a corrupt police officer, but with a little difference. Chulbul steals from the bad guys and makes sure to pass it on to the poor. That’s why he calls himself Robin Hood Pandey. His killer one-liners, his fart-jokes (remember ‘hum tum mein itne ched karenge, ki bhul jaoge ki sans kaha se le aur paadein kaha se’?), his ‘fictional’ super-powers to swing dozens of goons, his swag ala Rajnikant-like tricks of swinging the Ray-Bans is a treat to watch!
Singham
Unlike Pandeyji, Bajirao Singham is an honest diligent cop, who follows the mantra of his life – “Mein leta nahin, deta hoon”. Clad in a perfectly-fitted Khaki uniform, Singham is raw AF who unabashedly flies, kicks, jumps, and slaps the goons. A complete no-nonsense cop, Singham’s personality is to die for.
Rowdy Rathore
Rowdy Rathore is actually a thief-turned-cop. The traits of this character are more or less similar to Chulbul Pandey and Bajirao Singham. However, the only difference is Rowdy Rathore’s slapstick humour and yes, his moustache which he keeps twirling up. In fact, his moustache plays a pivotal role in his life as he keeps saying he wants his moustache cut off if he dies in a fight. Machoness personified!
JCP Dashrath Singh
Dashrath Singh is one crazy cop, who smokes beedis and wears a gamchha around his neck, dons a black leather jacket while he goes after criminals. Not to forget, this 60-something cop dances with hot babes and does drunk dancing with an item girl. Remember ‘Kajra Re….’?
Simmba
The notorious cop Sangram Bhalerao is coming to entertain you next Christmas. Introducing Rohit Shetty’s new cop-drama ‘Simmba’, starring Ranveer Singh as the lead, that will hit the theatres on December 28 next year.
Going by the first look poster, where Ranveer is seen laughing out loud, we are sure the actor will show his crazy side yet again in this one. Ranveer wearing glares, a ganjee and a chain, gives us a hint that we might get to see another rowdy cop with an intriguing moustache look.
