Life Lessons From The World Of Movies And Glamour

Some good, some bad, some plain ugly

Sometimes Bollywood is not only about entertainment, it gives us some valuable life lessons too. Don’t believe us? Take a look:

Sunny Leone

The sexy Sunny Leone took everyone by surprise when she adopted a little girl Nisha. While most people thought Sunny Leone was synonymous with item numbers, she proved how they were wrong and she’s like any other woman with motherly instincts and she’s equally domesticated too. She’s surprised all by how beautifully embrace motherhood. The lesson here is never judge a book by it’s cover!

Priyanka Chopra and Mira Rajput

Even though Priyanka Chopra has made us Indians proud on many occasions, this was one incident we are sure even she regrets. At one of her interviews during the promotions of her upcoming home production, Pahuna, she made a statement about Sikkim that didn’t go too well with the Sikkimese people and she later had to apologise for the same.

Similarly, Mira Rajput made a statement after her baby was born saying; one shouldn’t have a baby if one is working since a baby is not a puppy. Little must she have expected the kind of hate messages she got from other young mothers.

The lessons learnt from these incidents are; always do your homework well before making public speeches and think twice before you make a statement.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut’s take on nepotism shook up the whole industry and how! She was trolled, accused of playing the victim card, made fun of etc. but she stood her ground firmly. While the debate on nepotism is an ever ending one.

Lesson learnt: How to stand up for what we believe in and be fearless.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha

This was one film that brought a positive change in our country and was instrumental in changing a lot of mindsets and age old illogical practices. The film was a step toward making our Bharat swatch!

Lesson learnt: Sometimes a movie can do what even our politicians cannot.

Sonu Nigam

Twitter is a great medium to put your views across, Sonu Nigam probably thought the same too when he tweeted;“God bless everyone. I am not a Muslim and I have to be woken up the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.” The statement put him in a soup with debates on religious intolerance…The result was Sonu Nigam going bald to prove that he wasn’t targeting any religion!

Lesson learnt: Never mess with religious sentiments is what the whole incident taught us, hope he learnt that too.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya

Twitter suspended Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s account after he posted a string of “offensive” tweets, against women and social media users accused him of using insulting and inappropriate language. But the stubborn man that he is, he opened a new account on twitter again and tweeted: “Vande Mataram. I am back. Anti-nationals can’t stop my voice, salute to Indian Army. This is my new Twitter account, rest are fake.” His victory was short-lived as Twitter soon suspended his new account as well!

Lesson learnt: Keep a handwritten journal to vent your stupid opinions because even social media doesn’t accept everything!

Ariana Grande

On May 22 this year, in Manchester, Ariana Grande had just left the stadium when a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured 116 others. Ariana was heartbroken and could have been scared and hidden at home but she was back for another show at Old Trafford, just two miles away from where the blast took place for a benefit show.

Lesson learnt: Show courage and not to give in to terror.

Justin Bieber Concert

When Justin Bieber announced his India tour, there was a lot of excitement among all the Justin Bieber fans and they shelled out huge amounts of money for the tickets. However, he left his fans very disappointed when they had to watch him lip sync instead of singing live! While Bieber lost some fan base here in India, Indian fans and all of us basically learnt a valuable lesson: Do not be a Beliber oops sorry…believer of everything!
