He’s the most popular ‘Shivji’ ever in the history of Mythological television shows and now Mohit Raina is all set to make his big Bollywood debut.
Mohit who is popular as Mahadev on the mythological show, Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev will soon be seen in an upcoming film titled URI.
Mohit who became extremely popular with his role as Lord Shiva in the TV show Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev, will play an Indian Army Officer in the film. Mohit has earlier played a soldier in one of his TV show, Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897 which is the story of 21 soldiers, who fought more than 10,000 Afghan intruders. Speaking about URI, Mohit who believes that the Nation also comes before anything else said; “I feel that it is a great opportunity to be part of a film that portrays the incident.”

While Mohit’s rumored girlfriend Mouni Roy will soon be seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer Gold, this is Mohit’s first Bollywood film. Apparently acting is not what Mohit dreamt of doing, he always wanted to join the Indian army and it seems now his dreams will soon come true, maybe not in real life but at least in reel! Talking about his love for the patriotic genre he says, ” It was my dream to join the Indian Army. Since that never got fulfilled, I make up for it by playing a soldier whenever I get a chance. Also, I have always taken up challenging roles on television. So, though I love commercial films, I wanted something different for my film debut as well. Whether it is mythology, history or any other genre, the role has to be backed by strong content.”
Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, and Kirti Kulhari also star in URI, which is directed by Aditya Dhar.
