Rani Mukerji regrets not being able to show Hichki to Sridevi

As the superstar Sridevi has finally been laid to rest with full state honors, she brought not only her whole family and friends together but also the entire industry came together to bid her goodbye. The entire industry could be seen mourning the huge loss together. Her funeral is estimated to have attracted the highest number of mourners, which was evident from the way her fans had thronged outside her house and the venue where her prayer service was conducted. From office goers to homemakers, students, laborers, children, the elderly, etc. all her fans wanted to catch a final glimpse of their favorite star.

It’s not just the ordinary people but also many from Bollywood were a huge fan of the gorgeous and talented star. Rani Mukerji is one of them. Speaking to HFT during the promotion of her forthcoming film HIchki, Rani who was visibly shaken by her death, spoke more about Sridevi than her film. Rani said, “I was very close to her and it is very tragic. Before she went to Dubai, she told me that she wanted to watch Hichki, so I told her that you go to Dubai attend the wedding and come back then we can watch the movie once you are back. The film will be absolutely ready by then, but now that will never happen and I will always regret that.”

Rani also said that the two people who loved her immensely, one being her father and the other Sridevi were people she wanted to show her film to because she knows that they would have given her genuine feedback and advice.

“It’s a huge loss for me.For me, Sreeji has been my favorite since childhood. I used to go and watch her shoot straight from school in my school uniform and with my school bag when she was shooting a film with my uncle. She used to call me Ladoo. I still can’t believe that she is no more, it is one of the things that I never expected. She called after watching the trailer saying ‘Ladoo I have to see this movie’.The last two years since I had Adhira, she has been such a huge inspiration and support. She has given so much love to Adhira and she’s been like an older sister, a masi, a pillar of support and she has left a void in my life just like my dad did.”

Sridevi has left a huge void not just in Rani’s life but in the Bollywood film industry too! There will never be another Sreedevi!
