Everyone has been raving about Ranveer Singh’s rap in Gully Boy. Ranveer recently rapped live to ‘Kalakaar Main’ for the media at the launch of the song and showed us how talented he is as a rapper. Dressed in a bright yellow down jacket, with a purple bandana on his head and green dark glasses! Ranveer looked every bit the street rapper at the event.

Gully Boy which also stars Alia Bhatt is based on the life of street rappers like the famous internet sensation Divine. The film tells the story of all the ambitious street rappers who fight all odds to establish themselves as rappers and also earn a name. It is based on the life of street rappers Divine and Naezy.

We bet you didn’t know that Ranveer has been rapping since 2011 and this is not the first time he has used rap for his work. Ranveer has not rapped once but thrice before he rapped on screen for Gully Boy.

In fact in 2014 Ranveer showed his rapping skills twice. The first was for called Do The Rex for the Durex Condom TVC. The rap talked about safe sex and Ranveer is seen rapping on stage. However, Ranveer was not just lip syncing but he actually sang the rap for the Ad.

The second time was also for an Ad in 2014. This time Ranveer is dressed like Mad Hatter and singing and dancing on the stage. The song is titled My Name IS Ranveer Singh! This was a unique Ad shot by Rohit Shetty and it was shot like a music video. The fun part is Ranveer raps about the Ching products. For this one too, Ranveer sang the rap himself.

The third time was in 2016 again for an Ad. for Jack and Jones and says Don’t hold back. This one is an out and out Rap where Ranveer has performed with real rappers. Like the other two ads, Ranveer has rapped in his voice for this too. Looks like Ranveer was already gearing up for Gully Boy then.

While we can’t wait for Gully Boy to release, why not watch some of his earlier raps till then?
