Priyanka Chopra has been making quite a splash with her Hollywood projects and her high-profile wedding last year to singer Nick Jonas. She was last seen in Isn’t It Romantic? Opposite Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth and also made an appearance in hubby Nick’s latest music video Sucker along with the rest of the Jonas Brothers.

But Bollywood had seen quite little of the original desi Girl in the past few years with her last appearance being in Jai Gangajal in 2016 directed by Prakash Jha. However, PeeCee is all set to make her return to Hindi films with her latest film The Sky is Pink that is all set to release on October 11, 2019.

The film is based on the true story of Aisha Chaudhury who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis at the age of 13. Priyanka is to play the mother of Aisha and her character is supposed to go through an age transition from 22 to 60.

This is however, not the first time Priyanka has played a role where her character has to go through an age transition. She has played the character of Susanna who had undergone intense character transformation in 7 Khoon Maaf.

Priyanka said that while it was a challenge to go from the age of 22 to 60 for the character, she was able to sink her teeth into the role and hopefully be able to do justice to it.

The Sky is Pink is being directed by Shonali Bose, acclaimed director of Margarita with a Straw and also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim opposite Priyanka. The film is being shot in Delhi, Mumbai, London and the Andamans. Juhi Chaturvedi has been roped in as dialogue writer for the film and Pritam Chakraborty is to be the music director. It is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under their banner.

It will be a treat for Priyanka’s Bollywood fans to see the actor light up a spark on screen after nearly three years!
