This story is about many women from the Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh (AKPG) which is situated at Memnagar in Gujarat! The visually impaired women from that place have created around 1.75 lakh diyas for this Diwali! These women who themselves are unable to see the vibrant atmosphere of Diwali are trying to make someone else’s house brighter by selling these diyas during this auspicious time of the year.

Not just India, but these diyas would be sold abroad as well. The ones who are making have shown their excitement over this news stating that they want more and more people to buy the diyas from them. Now, for people who are visually impaired, making these diyas is not an easy task at all. To pour in the hot wax into the diya is never done by them since that might hurt them. The other tasks are always performed by the women in charge. For this brilliant job, these women are also paid their required amount.

This can also be a rich example of women empowerment in India. Also, for people who are always trying to find the greater purpose in life, this right here, is the greater purpose, that is, helping someone else through your creativity and talent. These women work day and night to build these diyas and sell them off. They are exceptionally good with the packaging as well. The fact that except pouring the hot wax in, all the other tasks are done by them only is commendable.

This is the spirit and power that everybody should possess. Yes, India is proud of them!
