Athletes and sportspersons from around 45 countries have already reached the sporting venue at Jakarta, Indonesia, to take part in the Asian Games, which is also known as Asiad. The event is going to be on between 18th August and 2nd September.

The 18-year-old was one of the main reasons that our Indian Women’s Hockey team reached the quarterfinals in the Women’s Hockey World Cup that was held in London this year.

Getting The Gold With Hima Das

18-year-old Hima Das already made India proud by winning the first gold medal in an international track event. With barely 2 years as a professional athlete, she has already given commendable performances especially at the Commonwealth Games, and her best performance, which is clocked at 51.13 seconds, is just a little less than the fastest sprinters in the world, who clock around 50 seconds.

Pack A Punch With Gaurav Solanki

This 21-year-old already got a gold at the Gold Coast and gave an impressive performance in the Commonwealth Games this year, and has also bagged the title of ‘Iron Chin.’ His performance at the recent Chemistry Cup in June in Germany shows much promise for the Asian Games.

Manika Batra’s Four Medals

The 23-year-old won four medals at the Commonwealth Games this year that included two gold medals. Apparently, she is really preparing for the Asian Games, and has added some new twists and tricks to her play.
