A lot of us (in fact, all of us) hope and pray for a comfortable lifestyle. You must have heard at least one person in your life say “all I want is a comfortable lifestyle”. But what does that really mean? Yes of course, it might be different for everyone. What’s comfortable lifestyle for me may not be so comfortable for you. We all have our own goals, expectations, and parameters. And yet, there must be one general definition of a comfortable life. A definition that is closest to all of ours idea of comfortable lifestyle! Let us try and explore that idea.
Ability To Pay The Bills

Life can never be at peace if you are not making enough money to pay your bills. Forget comfort, you will always be in discomfort if you bills remains pending. Everything about your day to day comfort requires you to pay bills. There is electricity bill for fans and lights. There is phone bill for staying in touch. There is gas bill for cooking food. And the list goes on and on. That phase of your life when you conveniently settle all your bills without having to borrow or work out a “Jugaad”, can definitely be deemed as a comfortable lifestyle.
Ability To Participate In Leisure And Recreational Activities

People need to participate in activities in order to refresh their minds and bodies. Being able to take out time and money for such activities makes life more interesting and enjoyable. This factor of comfortable lifestyle has more to do with time than money. Living a life that allows you to spend some of your time in activities like reading, meditation, swimming, playing etc deems it a comfortable life. This also includes going out to a restaurant or a bar every once in a while, bringing money back into the conversation. So is comfortable life all about money? No, it is not!
Love And Choice
At the end of this discussion, I’d like to factor in two of the most important aspects of a comfortable lifestyle. Love and Choice. A life can never be comfortable without these two. Love is necessary for survival. Love feeds your life’s soul and makes it blossom. Family, friends, lovers, strange connections are all that make life worth living. There can be no comfort without love. Secondly, choice. YOU CAN ONLY BE COMFORTABLE IN A LIFE YOU CHOOSE. Even if you are living a life full of love, money, and time, but it is against your choice; you will never be comfortable. On the other hand, even a life full of hardships feels comfortable if you have chosen that life for yourself!
So is it all about choice? Maybe it is! But we can never say for sure. I wish you a very very very comfortable lifestyle.
