This happens with people who are obsessed with perfection. The perfectionists won’t start a job until unless they’re sure they can give their best to it. The work keeps on getting delayed under such a scenario. Seeking perfection is great but then there is a reasonable limit to what you can achieve. If your idea of perfection is unreal, you will never finish your task. Sometimes, you have to reach a compromise and just do the task in hand in whatever condition and with whatever resources you have.

This reason behind procrastination is closely related to the “fear of failure”. A lot of us do not start or finish a task because we fear that we will fail in it. You may or may not seek perfection but you are still scared that you will fail. You feel more comfortable not doing the task than attempting it and failing consequently. In such a scenario, you need to embrace the fact that it is okay to fail. Secondly, you also need to understand that the real deal is in trying and giving your one hundred percent.

Lack Of Concentration

One of the more frequent reasons behind procrastination is lack of focus or concentration. In order to commit to a task, you need to have a certain level of concentration. If you are easily distracted, you will always find a reason to not finish a task. Also, it is important to have a direction in life, a goal of some kind. Such goal or target helps you focus and hence take initiatives in order to reach such goals. When you are not focused, you are like a nomad with no permanent direction. That kind of lifestyle will never help you overcome procrastination.

Unhealthy Lifestyle

Another prominent reason behind procrastination is health issues. If you are unhealthy and lack the energy of finishing a task, you will almost always end up procrastination work. It could be anything from reading to walking to simply finishing an assignment. The most basic requirement in order to finish a task is a certain level of energy, both mental as well as physical. In order to help yourself here, you need to opt for a healthy diet and get enough sleep. Healthy lifestyle can change your life in more ways than you can imagine.
