Most people think it is gross to skip shower in a day. My dad is one among them; so was my mother. Things seem to get worse when people learn that a girl, or a woman skips showers. Whatever! Things always turn a hundred times better or worse when a woman does it – not going into it now. My dad is a kind of a person who would trade for a shower if there were an option between taking a shower and eating meals in a day. I sorted of started skipping baths since I was in college. He had always been after me since then. He would coax me everyday to take a shower. It later became requests. Now, it has become more of a game of bribery. We trade small things the only condition being that I have to take a bath on a particular day!

I just hate taking shower every day. On an average, I take 25 minutes to hop in and off the shower. Judge me all you want, but I do feel lazy about it. Life is routine, regular, mundane. An average day includes waking up, office work, chores at home, taking a shower, eating meals, and going back to sleep. Among them, taking or not taking a shower is optional on most of the days; the others are unavoidable.

Instead of taking a shower for 25 minutes, I go for a basic clean up at! A quick underarms and privates wash ensure basic hygiene. If you are wondering, no one really knows I skip a shower at least 2-3 days a week, until I tell them. Wet wipes, moisturisers, deodorants, perfumes do a wonderful job of not letting people knock on their nose to tell them I haven’t had a bath!

I actually get bored in the shower. I am a terrible singer and thus, I also refrain from singing in the bathroom. So, 20-25 minutes feels like a waste of time to me if done on a daily basis. There are a lot of celebrities who loves to give daily shower a miss. The list includes celebs like Aamir Khan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Kristen Stewart, and trust me the list is longer.

By not taking a shower every day, I save around 1 hour every week. From busy schedules, an hour every week is a bliss. If you also strive for squeezing out some extra time from your schedule at times, you would know what I mean. Besides time, I also save water! Oh yes, I do! An average shower of 25 minutes requires around 150 litres of water! Quite a lot, ain’t it? And, of course I save some electricity/water bill, too.
