Not that we always admit it, but most of us do have an unhealthy, weird or unique obsession with something – it could be chocolate, instant noodles, pickled popcorn, lasagna and much more. As celebrities keep touring the world for their shows and promotions, taking along their love for something that could be their source of familiarity in unknown lands. Similarly, the much-loved English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has long admitted his love for Heinz ketchup, and he makes it sure to take a bottle with him wherever he goes.

If you didn’t know this, you’d be surprised to know that Ed Sheeran has given strict orders to the key members of his entourage to carry bottles of the iconic tomato ketchup with him wherever he goes for tours. According to previous reports, Sheeran was too disappointed when he found no tomato sauce during some of his meals on tours, and he has made it a mandatory item on his travels. He enjoys flavouring everything with the sauce, right from modest breakfast shops to fine-dine restaurants and he’s not ashamed about it.

The “Perfect” singer is not afraid to put his love on his sleeve (quite literally!), as he has a Heinz Ketchup tattoo on his left arm as a tribute to his favorite condiment. How many of us have managed to do that? According to rumours, the huge sauce and condiments giant will be offering Sheeran to be on their bottle labels too – a perfect dream come true, isn’t it?

Not stopping at that, now there’s something called Ketchup Ice-cream that has been created in honor of Sheeran. The Gelati Ennis crone and Ballina Ice Cream shop in Ireland came up with their own version of tomato ketchup – the Heinz Ketchup gelato as Sheeran was on his “Divide Tour” to Ireland a few months back. Bright ketchup-red in color, now that’s called some ‘crazy red love’.
After this, one would be left wondering that what’s so special about the Heinz tomato ketchup? Launched in 1869, Sheeran loves the combination of bright red tomatoes, salt, spices, herbs and sugar present in it.
To be honest, Ed Sheeran’s curious love story with Heinz ketchup does seem unusual. However, as long as he’s happy with it, we’re happy with it too!
