Okay let’s face it. During a wedding ceremony while all the guests are busy licking their fingers off a grand bouquet, it is often the bride who sits famished, attempting to look pretty nonetheless. But looks like, someone paid some serious thought to this bridal dilemma and invented, what can perhaps go down as one of the most innovative food ideas ever – a bridal pizza bouquet. Yes, you guys, pizzas as a bouquet that can be chomped off when hunger strikes are a real deal.

Villa Italian Kitchen, a US based pizzeria has come up with this unique concept, coinciding with the summer wedding season in the West. So, the brides can enjoy a carefully curated bouquet made with bite-sized slices of pizza, dribbling with mozzarella and red sauce.

With this totally off-beat idea, the pizza chain became the first ever eatery in the world to launch a Pizza Bouquet & Boutonniere giveaway. The eatery ran a promotion earlier this month inviting couples all set to tie the knot to enter for a chance to win a specialty made pizza bouquet along with a boutonniere. The good news is that the bouquet doesn’t only look good but also uses the best of the ingredients including whole milk mozzarella, California tomatoes. As was expected many excited and well foodie couples were soon to rush for the contest. The eatery will be announcing the selected names shortly. The brides who win will get an extraordinary chance to hold a pizza more sumptuous than any, specially designed by NYC based food stylist, Jessie Bearden.

While the idea does sound a bit bizarre and the bridal pizza arrangement isn’t really available in India, but the youngsters back home are kicked with the idea. Mumbai based design student Jayati Madhav says, “While my mum would definitely guffaw at the thought of me carrying a pizza bouquet as a bride but I think it could be a fun idea for a pre-wedding function with friends or something.”

Another young bride-to-be from Delhi, Sakshi Goel, says, “If I was in NYC, I would have 100 percent entered the contest. I mean isn’t wedding festivity about these fun moments?”

So, looks like not just in the US but even back home in India saying I do with a slice of pizza doesn’t really seem to be a bad idea!
