Folic acid is fondly called a B-complex vitamin that serves multiple purposes ranging from boosting iron content to increasing fiber and potassium levels, eventually making new red blood cells (RBC). So, what should you eat? Include sprouts, broccoli, peanuts, dried beans, bananas, and green leafy vegetables in your diet. Remember to include them regularly to observe desired changes in less than a month.

The other red vegetable that none can forget is beetroot. In addition to iron content, it is a good source of fiber, folic acid, and potassium. Consuming beetroot juice can enhance the count rapidly.

With summers approaching, watermelon is not to be missed. It is rich in vitamin C and iron and has the capability to absorb iron at a lightning speed.

Did we forget apple? Oh, that’s a dear fruit to anyone who is low on Hb. It is rich in iron and several other nutrients. The advantage with this fruit is, it keeps your hemoglobin count up all the time so you don’t have to worry about a low Hb henceforth.

While we have discussed Hb boosters, we need to know iron blockers too so we have the desired results. Foods that contain oxalic acid, polyphenols, phytates, and tannins should be avoided. This implies that you should avoid cocoa, soy products, tea, coffee, wine, cola and beer that can hinder the iron absorption process.

So now don’t you think you can treat this deficiency naturally with the right food? Grab a red fruit every day and stay stress-free!
