Have you been suffering from hair fall and are worried if it is going to ruin your look? Are you in your early or mid-20s and are scared about sudden hair fall?

Gone are the days when hair fall was restricted to the middle or senior age. Today, with pollution attacking us from everywhere, our hair has a lot to fight against. And it is no wonder that factors such as busy lifestyle, higher stress levels, unhealthy eating choices and others are having a marked impact on our hair.

If you ever thought about a hair transplant, do keep some very important things in mind.

1. No Alcohol Or Nicotine

According to Dr. Vinod Sonawane, Hair Transplant Surgeon and Managing Director at Bloom Hair Transplant with more than 7 years in the industry, make sure that you do not consume any alcohol for a week before and after the surgery. You should also stay away from any nicotine products and cigarettes. Experts recommend that you should not smoke or consume tobacco-related products for two weeks before surgery and a week after.

2. Avoid Going Out In Excessive Sunlight

Protect the scalp from excessive exposure to sunlight before the surgery as sunburn can cause complications during the procedure. Stay indoors if it’s sunny outside and take precautions if you have to step out.

3. Get Some Tests Done

Dr. Sonawane recommends that you get a blood pressure and complete health check-up right before the operation. Certain aspects of your health can play a critical factor in the procedure. Supplements or medications such as vitamin E and anti-depressants have to be avoided.

4. Choose The Right Person To Do It

Perhaps the most important aspect of the operation procedure is choosing the right medical professional, feels Dr. Sonawane. Make sure you do the right amount of research to make sure the person will be good for you. “Make sure the clinic you’re visiting has the necessary technology to perform this procedure at the highest level. The resident specialist should have a personalized approach to your case as no two cases are the same. If your case is not being treated as special, there can be issues later.”

After the procedure, protect your scalp and avoid alcohol or other medication. “It’s important to take care of your scalp before and after the treatment procedure,” says Dr. Sonawane. “A hair transplant is another opportunity at life for you. Make sure you take good care of yourself to make the most of it.”
