A Tribute To Sridevi : 7 All Time Favorite Dialogues From Sridevi’s Movies That Sum Up Her Life

I have danced as a young girl to ‘Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyan’ at my older sister’s wedding, I have watched her Chandni, Lamhe, Sadma, Chaalbaaz and English Vinglish innumerable times and have always been entertained, every time I watch them. She was one of the reasons that I always dreamt of becoming a journalist. Sridevi’s role as Seema Soni in Mr India, where she works as an undercover journalist has always always fascinated me.

For me there will never be another actress who comes close to Sridevi and her talent for acting, emoting, dancing or delivering her dialogues. Her films like Chandni, Lamhe, Sadma, Chaalbaaz etc. are famous and are loved by mostly everyone. While some of her other films might not have been that famous the dialogues from those films are something only she could have delivered with such an impact, dialogues that will forever be remembered along with her. Take a look

Salman Khan and Sridevi were paired together in the supernatural-fantasy Chandra Mukhi. It’s true that Sridevi too put her sweat and blood to earn all the name, fame and riches in life. She started at the tender age of 4 and never stopped working hard.

In Chaalbaaz where she has a double role, Sridevi tells Anupam Kher that she will become an all India star! She not only became an all India star but was loved by so many all across the world. She became a world famous star!

Ram Avtar

In Ram Avtar both Anil Kapoor and Sunny Deol are in love with Sridevi who plays Sangeeta. She speaks about how falling in love is not planned and is a coincidence. In real life too her meeting with husband Boney Kapoor was a coincidence and the two have been so much in love ever since.

Both Sridevi and Boney Kapoor were always seen together, holding hands at almost all the events and functions, right till the last family function in Dubai.Ironically, her husband Boney Kapoor was the only one present during her final moments in life.Like she has said in the dialogue from Ram Avtar that only death can break the bond of marriage.

She charmed us with her role as Shashi Godbole in Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish. Outside the actress Sridevi there was another layer to her, that of a complete family person. She was like any other homemaker when she was not acting. So many times I have bumped into her at Nature’s Basket buying groceries. Her love for her husband and her two daughters can be seen clearly in all the pictures she posted on her social media.

Being the mother of two daughters was perhaps what she counted as her greatest achievement. She was every bit the proud mother of two wonderfully brought up girls. Her pictures with her daughters speak volumes about the bond that they shared and the immense love and pride she had as a mother for both of them.

These lines from Sridevi’s film Army with Shahrukh Khan, keep coming back to our minds again and again. I hope she knows how much she was loved not just by her family but by all her fans, well-wishers, the film fraternity, her co-stars and people known and unknown. There will never be another star like her ever!
