The best part is the dance is that it’s a freestyle move which even non dancers like me, can easily pick up and go all wild!

Ranveer Singh plays the evil Allaudin Khilji in Padmaavat. At an interview during the promotion of Padmaavat, Ranveer told us how traumatised he was after playing the character of Allaudin Khilji and he would not want to play such a character again as it left him completely drained. There are no signs of being drained in the way he dances to Khalli Balli. He does the entire dance in character, one can see the aggression and energy all throughout the dance. It is said that the dance steps were apparently inspired by American rock music legend, Jim Morrison.

Well we don’t know how far that is true but what we do know is that the dance moves will go down in history!

Pinga, A Twist To A Traditional Marathi Dance Form

The dance moves by Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukon in Pinga from the movie Bajirao Mastani is something many women have tried copying. Though the dance form is a traditional Marathi folk dance, choreographer Remo D’Souza has given a classical twist to it. Priyanka had some difficult but interesting moves in this one.

Ghoomar, All About Twirling And Flowing Dresses

Ghoomar is another traditional dance form, this dance form is performed by the women of the royal families in Rajasthan, besides being performed new brides when they are welcomed into their marital homes. The shoot of Padmaavat started with this song, it was the first sequence to be shot. The dance is not as easy as Deepika Padukone made it look, like the name suggests, Ghoomar literally means to twirl round and round. This dance involves some difficult moves, where one needs to twirl round and round in circles. Not a wise dance move to choose, if you don’t want to embarrass yourself by falling flat on your face!

Jag Ghoomeya, Bhai’s Very Own Style!

Jag Ghoomeya from Sultan has some dance moves which if practiced will surely lose those extra kilos! The dance move in Jag Ghoomeya is an unusual one. The song is picturised on Salman Khan, and he can be seen taking a turn, falling on the floor and doing thumkas while he’s lying down in the ground! Guess who thought of the step? Yes it was bhai himself. It’s ekdum bhai ishtyle and fun!

Hud Hud Dabangg, Making A Style Out Of Nothing At All

Bhai gave us another signature move in Dabangg. Only he can pull off a move that involves nothing but props like a shirt collar, pant pockets and the belt! Yes, all it took was bhai moving his belt up and down in this song, and that became a much loved dance move! Like the Air Supply song says, “Making love out of nothing at all,” we could say Bhai makes a signature dance move out of nothing at all!

This title track has always been an introductory song for Salman in his Dabangg franchise, but unlike its prequels, the song in the third franchise comes at a crucial juncture of the story and will also feature Sonakshi Sinha in it. Salman recently announced that filming on Hud Hud Dabangg, is complete. We will have to wait till December to see what new move bhai brings to the song in this one.

Badtameez Dil, No Badtameez Moves In This One

In Badtameez Dil from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir Kapoor’s energy levels are on an all time high! His dance moves were compared with Shammi Kapoor’s moves in the song Aaja Aaja and Baar Baar Dekho. While we do agree the energy was the same as his grand uncle’s, Ranbir brought his own unique style to the dance. The song is peppy and makes your ‘badtameez dil’ go all out and dance to it.

Though many new dance moves have been discovered and there will be many more to come, Madhuri Dixit’s moves as Mohini, in Ek Do Teen from Tezaab, and Chane Ke Khet, from Anjaam, will forever be loved by any generation. Madhuri’s moves made many hearts go ‘dhak dhak’ and still do even today.

Do we really need a special day to dance? Hell no! Just put on our dancing shoes and play these numbers and go all out!

Absolute Film

Now this genre is as unusual as film genres get. The genre involved nonrepresentational films which were similar to abstract paintings and put focus on experimental and formal elements for a really unique experience.

Films like Rythmus 21 and Opus IV were the defining highlights of this unique genre.

Nudist Camp Films

Perhaps, for the first-time ever nudity came into consideration to be used in movies, this genre had featured nude women, with a few men within the frame who were obviously ignored. These movies supposedly demonstrated an educational inclination, the features of sun and a lifestyle which was nothing but naturalist.

Nude on the Moon, Elysia and Garden of Eden were the highlight featurettes of such a genre.

As TEPK deals with the much-pertinent problem of open-defecation in India, the story itself is highly motivational. Akshay’s character pledges to bring toilets to his village even if his wife doesn’t come back, saying “Ab biwi vapas aaye na aaye, sandaas to laake chodunga iss gaav mein,” is powerful and endearing.

Ouija

The Ouija is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words “yes”, “no”, “hello”, and “goodbye”, along with various symbols and graphics. It uses a small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic called a planchette. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words.It’s also known as a spirit board. No wonder then that this game has been featured in a number of paranormal movies. The one noteworthy was a teen horror that released in 2014 by the same name.

Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy role-playing board game. The game has inspired a number of movies, but the one worth a mention is the 2000 Dungeons & Dragons starring Oscar-winning star Jeremy Irons and Thora Birch.

Clue

Clue also known as Cluedo is a three to six player murder mystery game. The game was adapted into a film with the same name starring Madeline Kahn, Tim Curry, Michael McKean, Lesley Ann Warren, and Christopher Lloyd.

This is an animated film that even adults will enjoy watching. It’s dubbed in English from a French-Australian-Irish co-production and the film reflects true Christmas spirit with a positive messages about kindness.

Get Santa (2014)

Get Santa is a family comedy that stars Jim Broadbent as Santa Claus. The film is about a Santa who seeks help from a 9-year-old boy (Kit Connor) and his father (Rafe Spall) after crashing his sleigh into their garden shed! Interesting isn’t it?

A Very Murray Christmas (2014)

Tangerine (2015)

Directed by one of the most talented directors Sean Baker, Tangerine is one of the funniest comedies about a feisty escort who takes to the streets of Hollywood looking for the pimp who broke her heart! What’s interesting about the film is that the entire film was shot on an iPhone 5S! The film will make you laugh and cry.

Here’s a look at some hit romantic films I watched recently, where I didn’t find the ending convincing enough; though overall the film was a treat to watch:

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Friendzoned Is An Act Of Cruelty

Friendzoning should be just made illegal. ‘Pyaar mein junoon hai, dosti mein sukoon hai’ just ruined a poor sweet guy’s life. Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) wants to take his friendship with Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) to next level. But she rejects him as she only thinks of him as a friend. This one surprised us because it wasn’t a love triangle, at least towards the end of the film, and yet they do not end up together in the end.

Meri Pyaari Bindu – We Wish They Had A Convincing End!

We love happy endings in films, as Indians. Strangely, this one had an ending where everybody was happy, but not the audience. We came out of the cinema hall wondering and wishing the ending to be different. Bindu (Parineeti Chopra) and Abhimanyu (Ayushmann Khurrana), childhood buddies fall in love. But Bindu breaks up when Abhi proposes her for marriage. Years later, Abhi meets Bindu, who is now married and has a daughter as well. This couple definitely knows how to move on without holding any grudges, but the conversation in the climax was absolutely not-so convincing. We wish they had planned a better ending.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu – We Wish She Had Said Yes To Him!

This rom-com is such a cute film; until it reaches the end. Rahul (Imran Khan) falls for Riana (Kareena Kapoor), but it’s a one-sided love. Well, you win some, you lose some and that holds very true in one-sided love. Not like, love stories in films should always be ‘Guy meets girl and they live happily ever after’, but watching potential couples end up turning ‘just friends’ is kind of saddening, especially where one of them gets turned down. Worst is, the guy is still hopeful that the girl will return to him someday. We just wish Rians had said yes!

Aashiqui 2 – He could’ve simply gotten rid of alcohol issues, rather than…

Why does suicide seem like a solution to anyone’s problem? Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapur) is an alcoholic and a popular singer. He falls in love with Aarohi (Shraddha Kapoor), who too becomes a successful singer, thanks to Rahul. But Rahul commits suicide when he realizes that he has become a burden upon Aarohi because of his alcoholism. Well, couldn’t he have just taken his alcoholism seriously and got rid of it, rather than keeping his lover ridden in guilt of being more successful for the rest of her life?

Highway – Why didn’t they just omit the tragic climax scene from the script?

This Imtiaz Ali film was a unique love story but had a really tragic end. When we almost start thinking Veera and Mahabeer would live happily together in that small house in mountains, the unexpected shootout at Mahabeer just made us sob. We wish they had just thought of another climax. Both sleeping peacefully a night before Mahabeer’s death scene could have been the perfect end of Highway! Don’t you think so?

Unlike the two-part series that came in 2000 and 2003 respectively, where Daiz, Barrymore, and Liu had had a chemistry strongly set, here the Angels are assembled on demand for each mission guided by a Bosley. Which is played by Patrick Stewart, who’s supposedly be the first Bosley, which was then played by Bill Murray.

Naomi Scott, who’s a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, which opens a pandora box, which thus forms the plot for the new series of Charlie’s Angels with Kristen Stewart and Ella Balinska as Angels. They are now under the tutelage of a Rebekah Bosley played by Elizabeth Banks, who has also directed this flick.

The plot goes on to add Naomi Scott as a circumstantial Angel who gets a piece of action in the crossfire between people planning to neutralize her and weaponize a new age energy technology that she helped develop.

If you are a fan of the prior series and are trying to see a continuation, then brace yourself. This is clearly a reboot and not a continuation. We get a completely new take on the nuances. Earlier Angels (Diaz, Liu, and Barrymore) were known for their martial art skills and swift moves to fight rouges without guns and barrels. But the 2019 Angels have completely upgraded themselves with guns, gadgets, and sniper rifles albeit with some non-lethal consequences.

The plot chronicles the world from Rio de Janeiro, Berlin to Istanbul chasing suspects and fighting saboteurs. Has the right mix of intrigue with inside job, ghost like assassins, high octane car chase and deceptive ploys.

“Don’t Call Me Angel” the soundtrack by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey add a peppy beat to the fights and drama.

Kristen Stewart’s childlike expressions and quirks adds perfect punctuation right between explosions and gun fights. The director in Elizabeth Banks doesn’t fail so bad, but neither does it keep your gripped like a James Bond movie.

Charlie’s Angels 2019 is a fresh attempt at rebooting a perfectly made installments. Judged by its own merits, it delivers a fun evening of entertainment, comedy and action.
