2018 will be a year of remakes for Hollywood but there are many sequels too that is slated to release next year. Sequels of some of the films we have previously loved watching. Here’s a list of some of the sequels slated for release in 2018:
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again
Mamma Mia is one of Universal’s biggest hits; it was one of the highest grossing films of 2008, so the next right thing to do was obviously making a sequel. While mamma Mia was based on a Broadway musical, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, will be a mix of flashbacks and the present day. Fans of the film will get to see most of the characters from the original film and of course get to hear some more of ABBA So get ready with your dancing shoes for this musical that is said to release on 20 July 2018.
The Incredibles 2
Disney’s The Incredibles that released in 2004 was about a family of superheroes. All of them have interesting superpowers, Mr. Incredible is super strong, Mrs. Incredible has the ability to stretch, the daughter has the power to become invisible while their son is super fast, he has the power of speed, while the youngest child who is an infant has all the powers possible! A film that was loved by adults and kids alike, no wonder then that the makers are getting ready for the sequel that will hit the theatres on 15 June 2018.
The Predator
This will be a sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi film Predator, that released in 1987. The film is about a team of commandos in the Central American jungle fighting against a dangerous creature called the Predator. The film was supposed to be a be a reboot, but instead became a sequel that will explore more of the Predator mythology. The Predator is said to release on 3 August 2018.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
The film, Jurassic Park was about a park featuring dinosaurs who are brought back to life by the power of science, the thrill begins when something goes wrong and the dinosaurs start attacking humans. The film released in 1993 and there were three more sequels following that; Jurassic Park: The Lost World in 1997, Jurassic Park III in 2001 and Jurassic World in 2015. The fifth sequel has been announced and it’s called Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, So get set for some more of the prehistoric creatures that will hit theatres on 22 June 2018.
Ocean’s Eight
If you have watched the 2007 film, Ocean’s Eleven and enjoyed watching the action-packed crime thriller that dealt with a heist that takes place in New York, get ready for another huge heist in the sequel, Ocean’s Eight, that is set to release on 8 June 2018.
The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1
This is one movie that every Marvel fan will look forward to. Avengers: Infinity War is the sequel to 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and the nineteenth film installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, among others. The film was announced in October 2014 as Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and is slated to release on 4 May 2018.
