Madhuri Dixit’s Upcoming Marathi Film Bucket List Promises To Be As Badass As Ever!

Madhuri Dixit once again is giving us life goals with her upcoming movie

Trust yesteryears’ superstar to do something as badass at 50! While Madhuri with her radiant smile and electric moves lit up the screens and our lives as the Ek, Do, Teen girl during the 80’s, she is back once again in a role that looks to be a path breaker of sorts.

Madhuri will be soon seen in her debut Marathi movie, titled Bucket List. On Sunday, the golden girl of Bollywood who ruled the box office during 80’s took to social media to post the official teaser for her forthcoming film. As the title suggests the film really inspires us to set our own bucket list no matter what phase of life we are in. Dixit also thoughtfully tweeted that her bucket list is not constant and it keeps changing as she finds newer challenges. The message of this sweet film about a housewife who has so far dedicated her entire life on her kids and husband however manages to cross across age groups.

Why we all need a list?

Dixit is perfect role model for us to set our life goals

As the teaser suggests the movie is about Dixit playing the role of a housewife Mrs Sane. But the movie looks to be progressing into a territory where Mrs Sane decides to take control of her life. So, we have her doing mostly unthinkable things for a middle-aged woman in Indian cinema. Even though the things are as harmless as riding a bike or gulping down alcohol without feeling any guilt.

Indian women would relate that they have very often put their priorities on a backburner to nurture their families and have tried to fit into an ideal mould. But the message also effectively crosses across age groups and somewhere the golden girl with her radiant smile forces us all to set up our own bucket lists. Whether it is something as hedonistic as scaling Mt Kilimanjaro or going on a solo vacation or starting a business of your dreams, the way to get things moving as Ms Dixit suggests us is to begin my listing and striking off the things from our life’s lists.

The path breaker cinema

While the past few years have seen Indian cinema experimenting with women in their middle-age roles and the late Sridevi starrer English Vinglish was the perfect portrayal. With Marathi cinema too coming ahead with roles made for women in a certain age-group does say a lot. Of course, it helps that we have Dixit whose fan following crosses age- groups to convey this message.

So, here’s to Mrs Sane’s bucket list which forces us all to look into our lives and make a list of our dreams pronto!
