Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, the third edition of the of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster series is about a politically powerful biwi ( Mahie Gill), a saheb (Jimmy Shergill) who has two wives and a gangster(Sanjay Dutt) who makes a living and killing by playing Russian roulette! The film is all about power hungry people who will go to any lengths for that power.

While we have seen Saheb (Jimmy) and Madhavi (Mahie) in the previous films from the series, Chitrangada Singh as Suhani and Sanjay Dutt as Uday Pratap the sophisticated gangster are the new additions. There are other additions too besides Sanjay and Chitrangada like Soha Ali Khan as Saheb’s second wife, Kabir Bedi and Nafisa Ali, Deepak Tijori etc.

Jimmy and Mahie have proved yet again as to why they make the perfect Saheb and Biwi

While the first two sequels were impressive; Randeep Hooda played the gangster in the first and Irrfan Khan in the second. Sanjay Dutt was a pleasant addition as the third. Sanjay seemed like the perfect Gangster since he’s played a gangster in so many of his films, but sadly the script of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 fails miserably!

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 starts from where part two left us. Saheb is behind bars and is trying to get out of jail and get back the honour and power he once had, while his wife Rani Madhavi Devi tries everything in her power to keep him where he is and enjoy the power. We are introduced to Uday Pratap (Sanjay) who owns a club in London and is madly in love with his mistress (Chitrangda Singh). A little before the first half, Saheb is released from prison and that’s when we know that the real drama will actually begin in the second half!

The real drama does begin but it’s confusing with equally confusing twists and turns and unanswered questions about the purpose of some of the characters even being there in the film!

As far as the performances are concerned, Jimmy and Mahie have proved yet again as to why they make the perfect Saheb and Biwi yet again. Jimmy not only looks good as the Raja but even performed brilliantly. Mahie overshadows everyone with her outstanding performance as the power-hungry Maharani, she’s pleasantly wicked! Chitrangada Singh is gorgeous and sensual but sadly has very little to do in the film. Sanjay Dutt fits the role as the gangster ‘coz he’s the Baba’, but we tend to see glimpses of the rowdy yet good-hearted Munna Bhai in his character. Between Jimmy and Mahie’s characters in the film, Sanju’s character as the gangster seems overshadowed by the two.

Basically, the storyline is a huge disappointment, while the star cast was brilliant, the script was a letdown. The story ends in such a way that there are chances of part 4 and director Tigmanshu Dhulia had also mentioned in one of his interviews that if he doesn’t get a villain for the fourth part, he will play the part himself! We suggest he puts his efforts into writing a kick-ass script like the first part….first!
