As the makers and actors of Ranbir’s Kapoor’s much-awaited Sanju based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, gear up for the release of the film, the film seems to have now got into yet another controversy.

This time it is a complaint that has been filed against the film with the Central Board of Film Certification, regarding a scene in the film’s trailer. The scene apparently is one where Ranbir Kapoor who plays Sanjay Dutt in the film is in jail and a dirty leaking toilet has been shown while he is sitting in his cell. This scene has been shown in the trailer that was released on 30 May, in which Ranbir can be seen in a prison uniform inside his cell when suddenly the toilet starts overflowing and floods his cell.

As reported, the complainant, activist Prithvi Mhaske feels that the scene will create a bad impression about jails authorities of India! Mhaske objected to the toilet leakage scene in the film’s trailer. Mhaske wrote a letter to the Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi and in the letter, he wrote that the jail authorities are taking very good care of all the barracks of the jails. He also added that no such incident has been heard of where the toilets in the jail have been leaking. He was also miffed with the fact that even though films on gangsters have been made earlier in Bollywood, none of those films portrayed any such incident.

According to a source close, Mhasake has also threatened to take the makers to court if no action is taken by the makers of Sanju. The film which narrates the story of Sanjay Dutt’s controversial life includes the period that Sanjay spent in jail in connection with the 1993 Bombay blast case. He spent 18 months in jail during the trial.

Earlier too the censor board had issues with certain scenes from the film like the one where Ranbir Kapoor is standing nude in front of prison officials with a water jug strategically placed on the table to cover his private parts, or the scenes where Ranbir Kapoor discusses drugs, alcohol and how many women he has slept with. The makers, however, seem to have worked that out with the censor board.

Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Sanju also stars Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Manisha Koirala as Nargis along with Anushka Sharma who plays a lawyer, Sonam Kapoor as Tina Munim, Karishma Tanna as Madhuri Dixit , Dia Mirza as Manyata Dutt,Jim Sarbh as Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal as Kumar Gaurav, Tabu in a cameo appearance as herself , Boman Irani as Sanjay Gupta, etc. The film is all set to hit the theaters on 29 June.
