The title of Salman Khan’s much talked about home production; Love Ratri has been changed to Love Yatri. The film starring his brother in law Aayush Sharma and newcomer Warina Hussain is almost on the verge of release on 5 October. Looks like the makers didn’t want to be surrounded by any kind of controversy and wanted a smooth release without any disturbance whatsoever.
Earlier the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had raised objections to the title. Reports were that they had claimed that the title demeans the festival of Navratri which pays obeisance to their Goddess Durga. They had apparently warned that they would not allow the film to be exhibited in cinema halls as they did not want the sentiments of Hindus to be hurt.
Talking about the same, at a press conference Salman had said that they did not mean to demean any culture. He said, “It is a beautiful title. There is nothing more beautiful than love, so it is called ‘Loveratri’. It is not demeaning any culture. Our prime minister is from that culture. So, when you play a character like I played a Sardar in a film or I played a Haryanvi in ‘Sultan’, I do it with a lot of respect.”
However, as Aayush Sharma had told HotFridayTalks.com in an interview that SKF believes in making films that the whole family can enjoy watching together. So as per information available with HotFridayTalks.com, Salman and his team at SKF wanted to make sure that the audience could go to the theatres to watch the film without any kind of disturbance and that’s the reason the title has been changed from Love Ratri to Love Yatri.
Salman announced the change in the title along with the new poster on his social media and wrote: “This is not a spelling mistake.”
