Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan had accepted the titular role of Sircar’s biopic a year ago. However, the project had to be put on hold when he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumor in March this year. The actor has been receiving chemotherapy in London and is currently responding well to the treatment. Director and playback singer Vishal Bhardwaj has reportedly said that Khan has begun to watch cricket and sing songs, and that he is waiting for him to come back stronger. Khan will start shooting for Sircar’s project after his return, after which he will sign for more projects.

Sircar has said that he is willing to wait Khan to completely recover and then start working on the biopic, and that he completed the preparation for the movie. He was even more impressed by the fact that Khan had an in-depth knowledge about the history of Punjab, and that he is one of the finest international actors in our country. According to news reports, Khan and Sircar had really enjoyed working with each other in “Piku”, and Khan had really liked the script of Sircar’s biopic.

After completing the shoot for Sircar’s movie, Khan will be returning to Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie opposite Deepika Padukone, which is currently put on hold. There have been news about the making of a sequel to “Hindi Medium”, which has been stalled for the moment as well so as to allow Khan some time to rest and recover.

Irrfan Khan was previously seen in the role of Shaukat in Akarsh Khurana’s comedy-drama “Karwaan” along with Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar, which has received positive reviews. He was also part of Abhinay Deo’s dark-comedy “Blackmail” and the American movie “Puzzle”, both of which received mixed to positive reviews.

We wish him the best of recovery and wishes for his future projects.
