3 Storeys Music Review

This four-song album has two gems hidden in it

3 Storeys Music Review

3 Storeys looked like a promising film from the day its trailer debuted. It looks to tell a unique story which is grounded in the chawls of Mumbai. The music for the film is now out in its entirety, so let us take a look at what it has on offer.

The album features just four songs, with three of them having been composed by Clinton Cerejo and one by Amjad Nadeem. Different people have been brought on board for the lyrics of each of these songs.

The soundtrack starts off with Bas Tu Hai which is a romantic ode to one’s partner. Penned by Puneet Krishna, the lyrics of this one are deep and echo a sense of nostalgia that’s prevalent in romance.

Arijit Singh is at his romantic best in Bas Tu Hai. The emotion that his voice adds to the track is extremely evident, and makes you wonder if any other singer can create the same magic. Jonita Gandhi is the female lead in this song, and she has played her part perfectly.

Raasleela is a song that seems like it’s heavily inspired from the Falguni Pathak’s garba numbers from the yesteryears. It manages to create a pleasant mood, which is given a further boost by Sumedha Karmahe’s beautifully soft voice.

Azaadiyaan doesn’t impress as much as the other songs do, but it’s not a bad song per se. Sung by Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes, this one is weak in the lyrics department, while the music doesn’t stand out as well.

Zaroori Bewakoofi is the final song from the album, and has been sung by none other than Mohit Chauhan. The song chooses to tackle interesting subject matter, but it turns out to be the weakest one from the soundtrack. The music and lyrics seem to be all over the place, and the tune can in no way be described as catchy.

3 Storeys is the latest venture from Excel Entertainment, which is sharing the production duties with B4U. It’s a thriller drama directed by Arjun Mukerjee, and features an ensemble cast consisting of Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Sharman Joshi and Renuka Shahane.

The film is slated to be released on March 9.
