Asha Bhosle is one voice that is timeless. Her songs range from pop, classical, ghazals, western and even cabaret, her most loved Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja is popular even today and has been remixed and probably every generation has grooved to it at parties. Dum Maaro Dum

A cult song from a cult film, Dum Maaro Dum was not only a bold song but way ahead of it’s time. Picturised on Zeenat Aman, the song which belonged to the hippe generation is still popular even today. The song was remixed in the film by the same name starring Deepika Padukone.

Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja

Asha Bhosle’s melodious voice and Helen’s sensuous dance moves made this song a super hit. Parties in the nineties were incomplete without this groove dance number. The tune was created by R D Burman but the originall tune was not used in the film as the makers wanted a fast cabaret. Years later Asha released the same song with the original tune created by Burman along with Leslie Lewis.

Duniya Mein Logo Ko

This peppy number originally sung by Asha Bhosle was a hug hit in the 70s and it also marked gave a huge boost to her singing career. She proved that she could sing any kind of song. The song is still popular and has been remixed for the Ajay Devgn starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbai.

Yeh Mera Dil

Yeh Mera Dil from Don is an icon song, picturised on Helen was remixed later for the Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor version of Don.

Eena Meena Dika

This fun song that was sung by Asha Bhosle years ago in 1957 was remixed for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Shandaar. The song is a nonsensical fun one and enjoyed even today by kids and adults alike.
