With the excitement for the ‘Kalank’ release quickly building up, the audience is highly anticipated about the songs in the movie. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that ‘Kalank’ is one of the most-awaited movies this month, due to its rich historical background and once-in-lifetime star cast. It is a period drama movie set during the pre-Independence British era in 1945 and stars Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kriti Sanon, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Now, the makers have released the fifth song of the soundtrack, by the name of “Aaira Gaira”.
“Aira Gaira” had received much attention even before its official song release. Kriti Sanon is seen dressed in an exotic purple lehenga (with heavy embroidery) and a backless choli and is dancing to the music with Aditya Roy Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Her costume accessorised with a heavy ‘maang-tika’, earrings and a nose ring, she looks every bit the quintessential dancer of the bygone era. And why not, for she has been styled by none other than Manish Malhotra for her gorgeous look.
Before its release, Sanon had taken to her Instagram account and announced the good news with a teaser of the song. Not just Sanon herself, Kiara Advani has appeared in a song for the epic period drama. She is seen in the song “First Class” opposite Varun Dhawan, which earned appreciation from the audience as well. According to the trailer, the characters will be a part of an epic love saga.
Coming back to the song, Kriti Sanon plays the role of a dancer here, which includes ‘thumkas’ as was customary during the period. This is Sanon’s first collaboration with Dharma Productions and marks her return to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment as well. One of the biggest songs performed by her till date, Sanon describes the set as grand and well-lit, and that she had to rehearse for six days before the actual shooting.
With that being said, Kriti Sanon seems to be quite excited about her latest song in the movie. For all the movie-goers out there, ‘Kalank’ will be released in the theatres on 17th April 2019.
