Ajay Devgn & Ileana D’cruz’s Sanu Ek Pal Chain Set To Be The Rashke Qamar Of This Year?

The song is yet another reworked version of a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan song

Entering the charts this week was the song Sanu Ek Pal Chain from the upcoming Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz starrer, Raid. Sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, this song will definitely remind you of last year’s massive hit of a track, Mere Rashke Qamar, which too featured the two actors and was sung by the same enchanting voice of Rahat Saab.

And just like that song, this one too is based on an old track sung by none other that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. There are many such similarities between the two that can be pointed out moreover. One of them is that the music director who has recreated the songs is also common for both.

But what’s worth considering is that the Mere Rashke Qamar turned out to be one of the most heard romantic songs of last year in Bollywood. So it seems as if it has been a conscious effort to bring back the same people and hope this song too turns out to be a huge hit.

Only time will tell whether the same will be true or not, but the current forecast seems to be pretty strong, given the song has garnered more than 2 million views on YouTube in just one day.

The song’s lyrics have been reworked by Manoj Muntashir. His words follow the much common romantic pattern of adoration and worship. There’s nothing new on the table when it comes to the lyrics of the song. As for the music, it’s unobtrusive, giving Rahat’s voice full freedom to take over the track.

And he does that with great control and effectiveness, proving once again that he is the singer to go to when you desire the perfect romantic number. Sanu Ek Pal Chain may not be as beautiful as Mere Rashke Qamar, but it sure does create a romantic vibe. This explains the fact the song has been released right around the time of Valentine’s Day.

Raid is a film directed by Raj Kumar Gupta who has given us films like Aamir and No One Killed Jessica in the past. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on the 16th March this year.
