When it comes to smaller projects in Bollywood, the most effective way to bring attention to these movies is through music. And more than the musical nuances, what is more carefully crafted are the visuals, to appeal easily to a huge mass of audience. One such upcoming smaller movie is Hotel Milan, whose first song ‘Badi Happening Lagti Ho’ was released a few days ago, on 29th August. Without any major promotion, the song has managed to sweep up more than a million views within a day on the music video released on the official YouTube channel of the record label Zee Music Company.
The song has been both written and composed by the artist who goes by the name of Enbee. The singers who have lent their vocals to this track include Enbee as well, along with Raahi and Jyotika Tangree. While Enbee’s vocals are more leaning towards straightforward rapping with minimal change in his flow, the female vocals almost remind one of the sensational voice of Neha Kakkar. Paired with laid-back tune and lyrics that were probably written in a lesser serious mood, the song comes out to be a fair attempt at creating a summer chill party track.
But where the musicality is lacking, is made up for through the visual appeal of the short music video. To begin with, Radhika Bangia, the female lead in the music video is an absolute treat to watch with both her unusual yet attractive facial features and her smooth dance moves. Kudos to the director of this music video for envisioning such beautiful shots, especially the ones taken at Mumbai Sea link, and amidst some city slum. The Arabian Sea paired with the indigenous vibes evoked by the bright curtains and doors of the slum may remind the viewer of the music video of Despacito. Just like the video of Despacito was a celebration of the true colors of Puerto Rico, some significant parts of this music video too seem to attempt to capture the undiluted, the non-whitewashed image of aamchi Mumbai.

Directed by Vishal Mishra and produced by Haresh Patel, Hotel Milan stars Kunaal Roy Kapur, Karishma Sharma, Zeishan Quadri, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajesh Sharma, Zakir Hussain and Malvi Malhotra. The movie is slated to release on this coming 14th September.
