Bollywood always keeps its music directors busy throughout the year, and same was the case in 2018. The soundtracks of the films listed below dominated the charts this year, and they have found a permanent place in our playlists. Let us take a look at them.
Raazi
The Alia Bhatt starrer had four songs composed by the trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. All of them managed to give us the feels, but it was the patriotic Aw Watan that really took the cake.
Padmaavat
Sanjay Leela Bhansali once again gave us a flawless album in the form of Padmaavat. Tracks like Khalibali, Ghoomar, Binte Dil and Ek Dil Ek Jaan made sure that this album was a massive hit.
Badhaai Ho
This year’s surprise hit had just four songs, but all four of them have managed to rock the charts. Composed by multiple music directors, this album is definitely one of the best of the year.
Dhadak
Ajay-Atul repeated the success of the music of Sairat with Dhadak. Two songs were composed from scratch, while two were Hindi versions of original Sairat tracks. The Dhadak Title Track is truly a thing of beauty.
Baaghi 2
Multiple music directors have composed songs for Baaghi 2, and all of them have been loved by fans. Mundiyan, O Saathi and Soniye Dil Nayi were big highlights.
Stree
There’s hardly anyone who hasn’t heard and enjoyed the song Kamariya from Stree. But its other tracks such as Milegi Milegi and Nazar Na Lag Jaaye will also impress you.
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety
Another film that surprised everyone with its massive box office, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety featured excellent music from the likes of Rochak Kohli, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Amaal Mallik, Guru Randhawa, Zack Knight, Saurabh-Vaibhav and Rajat Nagpal.
Manmarziyaan
This fourteen-song soundtrack of Manmarziyaan will blow you away with its brilliance. Amit Trivedi has yet again outdone himself with this album.
Sanju
With hit tracks like Ruby Ruby, Kar Har Maidaan Fateh, Main Badhiya Tu Bhi Badhiya, Mujhe Chaand Pe Le Chalo and Baba Bolta Hain Bas Ho Gaya included in it, Sanju definitely deserves a place in this list. Two among the songs mentioned above have been composed by none other than AR Rahman.
Andhadhun
Another Amit Trivedi album in this list, Andhadhun is a phenomenal soundtrack, just like the film itself. Songs like Naina Da Kya Kasoor, Wo Ladki and Laila Laila deserve plaudits.
Here’s wishing that 2019 will also bring such awesome Bollywood music our way.
