Hollywood has as usual, given us some really great films this year. There have also been great soundtracks coming from these films that have dominated playlists from around the world. As we move towards the end of the year, we’ve decided to give you a list of the top Hollywood soundtracks to have been released this year. So without wasting any more time, let’s get going with the list.
A Star Is Born
A clear frontrunner in the Oscar race for this year, A Star Is Born is a beautiful film through and through. Its soundtrack has been performed by the two lead stars of the film Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and is nothing but a thing of beauty.
Bohemian Rhapsody
Of course, this one had to be on the list, hadn’t it? This biographical film on the life of Freddie Mercury features several Queen songs and unreleased recordings of the legendary band, Queen. And Bohemian Rhapsody itself is widely regarded as one of the greatest songs ever made.
Black Panther
Among the most successful Hollywood films this year, Black Panther had all its songs produced by Kendrick Lamar. This soundtrack will surely take you back to the enthralling atmosphere that the film had so easily managed to create.
Mary Poppins Returns
This album will immerse you in the musical fantasy world of the ace film. Marc Shaiman’s incredible soundtrack for this wonderful film will blow you away with its brilliance.
First Man
Damien Chazelle’s recreation of the moon landing had some breath-taking moments that were made possible by its excellent music. Composed by Justin Hurwitz, this is one soundtrack you wouldn’t want to miss.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was one of the freshest films of 2018. The makers of this movie assembled some superb songs for it, and the album is one excellent ensemble.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
A follow-up to 2008’s Mamma Mia!, this one mesmerized us with its soundtrack. Anne Dudley’s classical touch makes the songs in this musical hold it alive.
Deadpool 2
Another superhero film from this list, Deadpool 2 also assembled a killer soundtrack for its music. Among the many tracks, the one by Céline Dion which we’ve posted above, stands out.
Ready Player One
The music of Ready Player One was overshadowed by the sci-fi brilliance of the film, but its soundtrack deserves a listen from you. Composed by Alan Silvestri, this is one unforgettable album from 2018.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
This teen romance film was a rollercoaster of emotions. The music by Joe Wong has all the trappings of a brilliant romantic album.
