The trailer of Loveratri has been creating quite some buzz ever since it arrived onto the scene. And now, its makers have released the first song from the film’s soundtrack. Called Chogada, this track happens to be a remake of the extremely popular Gujarati folk song Hey Ranglo. Adhering to the film’s Navratri theme, it looks to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the said festival with its music.

Chogada has been composed by Lijo George and Dj Chetas, while the singing duties have been handled by Darshan Raval and Asees Kaur. The fusion of traditional instruments and electronic sounds is the main highlight of this version. But what towers above everything is Darshan Raval’s mature voice. It exudes confidence and doesn’t let even one note slip. Asees Kaur has also given a great performance, but she doesn’t have much to sing, unfortunately.

The lyrics, written by Darshan Raval and Shabbir Ahmed, try to blend the flavour of the original folk song with the modern language of love. And they feature a good mix of Gujarati and Hindi words. But the lines are pretty straightforward and lack any kind of depth. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from appreciating Chogada. Since its arrival on the T-Series YouTube channel yesterday, it has managed to grab more than 1.5 million views. The song is available for streaming on all major platforms right now.

Loveratri is an upcoming film which stars two newcomers. First among them is model Warina Hussain, and the other one is Aayush Sharma who happens to be the brother-in-law of Salman Khan. It isn’t surprising then that Salman himself is producing this film under his Salman Khan Films banner. Loveratri also stars Anshuman Jha, Ram Kapoor, Prachi Shah, Pratik Gandhi and Ronit Roy in important roles. Moreover, there are even cameos by brothers Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan.

Set in Gujarat and London, this movie’s plot features a love story between the two leads. As the film’s trailer has revealed, their romance takes place against the background of the festival of Navratri which is celebrated with much enthusiasm in Gujarat. An ensemble crew of music directors is known to be behind its soundtrack, so it would be interesting to see how the rest of the songs pan out.

Loveratri hits theatres in India on October 5.
