T he Madame Tussauds wax museum has taken a very different approach to unveiling its latest creation, the Ed Sheeran wax statue. This piece of art has first made its way into a cat cafe in London, where it will be staying for a few days before being relocated to the actual museum. If you’re wondering what a cat cafe is, it’s literally a cafe in which you can sip your coffee while being surrounded by lots of feline creatures.

Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium is playing home to the Ed Sheeran wax statue at the moment. It looks exactly like the singer, as is the case with most of Madame Tussauds’ pieces. The popular artist has been shown wearing a blue checkered shirt, and holding a guitar. Everything from his tattoos to his fingers holding the right guitar chord has been recreated to perfection. At the moment, the statue sits beside a tree installation at the cafe, where cats can be seen moving all around it looking for their treats.

Edward Fuller, who happens to be the general manager of Madame Tussauds in London revealed, “Knowing what a pet lover he [Ed] is, launching the figure at London’s renowned cat cafe felt like something the man himself would surely approve of.” Ed owns two cats named Chub and Chubber, who frequently keep showing up in his Instagram posts. The statue will be making its way into the actual museum next week.

The English singer is currently busy touring the world for his newest album Divide. It’s his third studio album and holds the distinction of debuting at number one in the United Kingdom, selling 6,72,000 units in its first week. This album also won the Grammy Award for the Best Pop Vocal Album last year. Castle on the Hill was the first single released for it, while Shape of You was the second. The latter became one of the biggest hits of last year, while it was also the best selling-song of 2017 and the best selling digital song worldwide.

Like we said, Ed Sheeran’s wax statue currently sits at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium where all visitors can see it before it is moved to Madame Tussauds next week.
