Ed Sheeran has been dropping new songs one after the other these past few weeks, and he has now released a music video for the song ‘Blow,’ which was launched last week with guest vocals from Bruno Mars and Chris Stapleton. What’s surprising is that this raucous music video has been directed by Bruno Mars, and swaps out the main singers for an all-female rock band, in keeping with the genre of the track.
‘Blow’ is an all-out hard rock track that’s evidently influenced by 1960s rock bands. It’s heavy on the electric guitar and drums, and has the vocal style to suit the theme. In the video, an all-female band is shown playing to a packed crowd at the famous Viper Room nightclub in Hollywood. And while none of the original artists are present in the video, their vocals are mouthed by people you might be familiar with.
Sheeran’s voice has been given to Cherish Waters, who used to be a contestant at America’s Next Top Model. As for Chris Stapleton, his part is played by model and actress Jordan Kelly DeBarge. Cheyenne Haynes, who is known for her role in Just Add Magic, takes on Bruno Mars’ role.
‘Blow’ happens to be the fifth single from Ed Sheeran’s upcoming No.6 Collaborations Project. It was released on the same day as ‘Best Part of Me,’ a beautiful ballad in which Ed joined hands with Grammy-winning singer Yebba. This album happens to be one featuring collaborations with different artists in every song. The 15-track record is also supposed to include tracks with the likes of Skrillex, H.E.R., Travis Scott, Eminem, 50 Cent and others.
The release of No.6 Collaborations Project is only two days away now – July 12, to be precise. Until then, you can listen to all five of its singles on major streaming platforms worldwide.
