To everyone’s disbelief, Enimen has just released his new album without any prior intimation. Kamikaze is a 45-minute, 13-track album with featuring acts that include Joyner Lucas, Paul Rosenberg, Royce Da 5’9” and Jessie Reyez. Eminem has produced this one along with music legend and long-time collaborator, Dr. Dre.

Releasing albums without any notice is seemingly shaping up to be a new trend in the US music industry. Back in July Beyonce and Jay Z (The Carters) did the same with their hit album, Everything Is Love. Guess the shock value helps create all the buzz needed for the songs, saving the record companies a ton of cash that would usually be spent on advertising.

Eminem’s Kamikaze is a follow-up to his 2017 album Revival which did not quite bode well with the critics. It is his tenth studio album in a career that can be described as incredibly illustrious. This album also includes Eminem’s much-awaited track for the upcoming Sony-Marvel film, Venom.

Taking jibes at contemporaries via major albums is something rappers really cannot stop themselves from doing. Eminem is no different. Through Kamikaze, he has taken potshots at everyone from Drake and Tyler The Creator to Donald Trump.

Two of the thirteen tracks from Kamikaze are actually 2-minute skits, while the remaining are full-blown tracks. The album is now streaming on paid streaming platforms, and there’s no music video/single out yet.

Eminem has come a long way since he burst onto the scene in the late 1990s. The white guy who was a misfit in the black-dominated rapping genre quickly made space for himself. He is now among the world’s best-selling artists of all time and easily one of the greatest and most influential artists in any genre.

Another major distinction that he holds is being the only artist to have eight albums consecutively debut at number one on the Billboard 200. He has also received 43 Grammy nominations till date, having won 15 of them, with 6 among them being for Best Rap Album.

Like we said, Kamikaze is now streaming on major paid platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime Unlimited and more. It will take some time for the music to arrive on other platforms.
