Ammi From Secret Superstar (2017)

This song from the 2017 movie Secret Superstar features the movie’s lead Zaira Wasim, along with Meher Vij. It is perfect tribute to all the mothers as the lyrics perfectly capture the uniqueness of a mother’s love and their selfless nature. Composed by Amit Trivedi and written by Kausar Munir, the song has been beautifully sung by Meghna Mishra and evokes bittersweet emotions in the listener.

Chunar From ABCD 2 (2015)

Composed by Sachin-Jigar and written by Mayur Puri this an extremely emotional affair, the grief of not having one’s mother around beautifully etched in the rendition of Arijit Singh. The video features Varun Dhawan, dancing to the track, every move of his translating the emotions beautifully on screen. If you are away from your mother, this song will surely make you feel painful twists and knots in your throat.

Janam Janam From Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013)

The video of the song Janam Janam features Shahid Kapoor and Padmini Kohlapure, and portrays the beautiful dynamics of a mother-son relationship. Written by Irshad Kamil and composed by Pritam, the song is both a bliss to the ear and a soft sting to the heart, as the voice of Atif Aslam delivers the subtle emotions of the lyrics.

Pyari Maa, Mumma From Dasvidaniya (2008)

Sung and written by Kailash Kher, and composed by him along with Paresh and Naresh, the song explores the sweet relationship shared by a mother and child. The video features Vinay Pathak and Sarita Joshi, portraying in a simple manner, the gratefulness and love that the son (Vinay Pathak) feels for his mother (Sarita Joshi).

Tujhe Sab Hain Pata From Taare Zameen Par (2007)

This is that one song that made the entire country cry in unison because of how aptly it captures the emotions we feel when it comes to our mothers. Featuring Darsheel Safari and Tisca Chopra for the most part, the video made all its viewers teary-eyed without fail. Sung by Shankar Mahadevan, written by Prasoon Joshi and composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the song is a beautiful and heartfelt confession of every child in us, that is forever relying on its mother in life.
