Five Times Bollywood Went Yo Yo With Honey Singh's Songs

When we heard Thanda Thanda Pani by Baba Sehgal we didn’t know he was rapping. By the time India developed its own rap scene; it had flourished tremendously in the West and emerged as the coolest medium of protest in South Africa. Rap is associated with the street and gangster culture and India has seen rappers like Baba Sehgal, Blaaze, Devang Patel and Bohemia. Honey Singh is one of the few who has revolutionized this genre and has enriched it with his contributions. Yo Yo Honey Singh turns 35 today (15th March 2018), and here is a list of his most popular tracks:

Lungi Dance from Chennai Express

This is perhaps the song that established Honey Singh and his set of compositions as a tremendous force in the Bollywood music industry. He composed this number for Shahrukh Khan starrer Chennai Express and is an ode to Thalaivar: Rajnikanth. The video itself has garnered over 69 million views and Honey Singh himself was seen in it dancing and rapping alongside SRK.

Chaar Bottle Vodka from Ragini MMS 2

Speaking of party anthems, how can we ever miss out on this one? This song was featured in the movie Ragini MMS 2 was composed by Honey Singh and featured the extremely steamy and sultry Sunny Leone. It didn’t take much time for the club number to become an instant hit.

Sunny Sunny from Yaariyan

No matter how annoying it may seem to some people you cannot deny that the lyrics are exceptionally catchy. “Aaj din hain sunny sunny, aur blue hain pani pani” was composed and sung by Honey Singh for the movie Yaariyan featuring Himansh Kohli. Neha Kakkar also sang alongside the rapper. It is a happy song where a bunch of friends dance and enjoy being reckless and carefree.

Party All Night from Boss

It was following this song that “Aunty Police bula legi” evolved as a catchphrase nationwide. There was no one who wasn’t familiar with the lyrics and tune of this song. It was sung by Sarasota Slim and Honey Singh for the movie Boss starring Akshay Kumar, a typical Bollywood action masala movie directed by Anthony D’Souza. The setting is again a nightclub and we see Akshay and Sonakshi dancing away to the peppy and groovy beats of this number.

Yaar Naa Miley from Kick

This is perhaps one of the best party songs by Honey Singh. It was featured in Sallu bhai’s movie Kick and was sung by Jasmine Sandlas and Honey Singh. The video has garnered a lot of views and attention and features Salman Khan and the extremely sizzling Nargis Fakhri grooving together.

Honey Singh has also released a handful of singles that remain immensely popular – starting with Blue eyes, brown rang and high heels which was featured in Ki and Ka and sung by Jaz Dhami. His “ata majhi satakli” from Singham 2 was also an instant hit.
