The much hyped first song from upcoming film Kalank has been released online finally. It’s called Ghar More Pardesiya, and it happens to be a Ramleela recital that’s being performed in the film by Madhuri Dixit. The video also features Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Fans will be surprised to know that Alia Bhatt gets to perform all the dance moves in this track, while Madhuri gets none.
It is a song about the welcoming of Ram by Seeta after his conquest. Hence the words, “Ghar more pardesiya, aao padharo piya.” The scenes show a grand Ramleela procession that both Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s characters are enchanted by. Even as Alia’s character makes her way through the celebrations, she enters the place where Madhuri’s character is singing it, along with what appear to be her students.
Alia Bhatt’s character is quick to join the fray, and thus begins a jugalbandi between the two that ends up impressing the teacher. Alia then discretely breaks into a spectacular dance performance, which, if you’re not careful enough, might end up taking your breath away. Surely, this song gives us a good idea about how grand the scope of the film is going to be.
If listening to the song made us believe one thing, it’s that Kalank promises to be yet another hit soundtrack by Pritam. Shreya Ghoshal and Vaishali Mhade have sung it to perfection, and Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics are, as always, bang on point.
Kalank is produced by Karan Johar, and directed by Abhishek Varman who had made 2 States back in 2014. The film has an ensemble cast featuring the likes of Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt.
The release date of Kalank has been set for April 17, and a teaser for the film is already out.
