If early reviews are to be taken into consideration, Karwaan promises to be a great film. The film’s music was already out, but the makers have now released a video version of its romantic track Heartquake. It’s a song filled with offbeat lyrics that present a blend of Hindi and English. That said, the song easily manages to create a romantic vibe with its music and vocals.

Anurag Saikia has composed this song on lyrics penned by Akarsh Khurana who is of course the writer and director of Karwaan. The vocals have been provided by Papon who beautifully articulates the thoughts being presented by the lyrics.

The lyrics grab your attention due to their comical nature, but they have indeed been wittily written. The song starts off with the lines, “Ae mohotarma yun na sharma. Main aashiq hoon koi creep nahi. Ae husan pari oh don’t worry. Meri shayari bhi jyada deep nahi.” This theme of marrying Hindi and English sentences continues for the rest of the song, and makes us look forward to the upcoming lines.

The chorus has also been written very well, to elucidate the intensity of this ‘Heartquake’ that the poet is describing. It goes, “Jabse dekha yeh mujhe kya hua. Mano jaise yahan heartquake hua. Sab ruk sa gaya, waqt tham sa gaya. Highway pe suddenly jaise break hua.”

Karwaan has been released across India, and is being met with favourable reviews. In our own review, we have called it a “journey not to be missed.” This film has been directed by Akarsh Khurana who we know as the writer behind TVF’s Tripling, Krrish 3, Kites and other movies. The theatre personality was also recently seen in TVF’s newest web series, Yeh Meri Family.

Karwaan features Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar and Dulquer Salmaan, who is making his Bollywood debut after having grabbed immense success in Malayalam films. The story of the film is centred on Avinash (Dulquer) who one day discovers that his father is no more. When he goes to collect his father’s body, he realizes that a mix-up has resulted in the body having gone to Kochi instead of its actual destination. Irrfan Khan joins the journey as the owner of the vehicle being used to pick up the body, while Mithila’s character Tanya also somehow gets involved in this ordeal.
