The promotions for upcoming film Luka Chuppi are in full swing right now, and the makers have just released a song called Photo from its soundtrack. This is a recreated version of a song of the same name, originally composed by Goldboy. The new version has received some additional touches from Tanishk Bagchi, while the original singer, Karan Sehmbi has himself sung it.

Photo is a song about a man being obsessed with the photograph of his lover. The Punjabi lyrics of the original have been altered a little for the Hindi audience. The chorus of the song goes, “Main dekhun teri photo, sau sau baar kude. Ke uthde tufaan seene vich, sau sau baar kude.” Nirmaan is the lyricist of the song, and in true ghazal fashion, he has chosen to include his name in the final stanza as well. It goes, “Tu ban meri raani kude. Deewana Nirmaan kude. Tu kar ehsaan kude.”

The song’s video includes new footage from the film Luka Chuppi, which stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon. The sad nature of the song gives us a clue that this love story isn’t going to be an overly pleasant affair. Tanishk Bagchi hasn’t changed much from the original song, but his version does bring out the vocals a bit more than the earlier version.

Luka Chuppi is a film that revolves around a couple who decides to enter a live-in relationship without letting their parents know. It has been directed by Laxman Utekar, who has so far only directed a couple of Marathi films, namely Tapaal and Lalbaugchi Rani. He has however, worked as a cinematographer on a number of hit Hindi films like Hindi Medium, Dear Zindagi, English Vinglish and others.

Luka Chuppi has been produced by Dinesh Vijan, who is known for having produced gems like Stree, Being Cyrus, Go Goa Gone, Finding Fanny, Badlapur and Hindi Medium. Apart from Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, the film also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Vinay Pathak.

The film will be released on March 1 in theatres across India. In the same week, Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya will also be hitting the box office.
