Vishal Mehra’s upcoming comedy “Hotel Milan” is a satire on the prevalence if anti-Romeo squads in our country. The title track is of the prime importance as it speaks about the hypocrisy faced by the youth who are not allowed to display their affection for each other in public, even in subtle ways. The high-spirited number was released by the music production on the official Zee Music YouTube channel and it has already seen 4,236 views in a few hours.
The song has been sung by Brijesh Shandilya and Shyamoli Sanghi, with a rap section by Enbee. Amjad Nadeem has written down the lyrics, and the song has been mixed by Prithvi Sharma. All the songs of the soundtrack have been directed by Harshit Saxena. Kunaal Roy Kapur, Karishma Sharma, Zeishan Qadri and Jaideep Ahlawat play the lead characters in the movie.
The music at the beginning instantly wakes you up, pumping energy through the song. The characters pleading for a private space to spend some time with his beloved, the song actually makes you laugh with its quirky lyrics mixed with everyday Hindi. The rap section in the middle is especially hilarious, which does not let you get away with the serious message of the right to privacy in the case of young couples. The loud melody perfectly complements the action-packed video, but it does start to give you a headache towards the end with the refrain of ‘Hotel Milan’ each time. Somehow, the entire song is reminiscent of Bollywood comedies made in the past with its earsplitting music and slightly crazy lyrics.
As mentioned, the two-minute long video is action-packed with bright colors, madly-in-love couples, some seductive scenes, a successful love hotel business, punches and kicks and couples in public being attacked by the law. The video also takes through the intervention of the media and the running of a court case regarding the situation, ending with the entry of Goldie Kaushik, who takes it upon himself to ‘preserve the culture of the state’.
Hotel Milan Title Track is a loud-and-lively song that successfully throws a sarcastic comment at the anti-Romeo squads in a mixture of humor, wit, and irony. The movie is slated to be released on 14 September 2018.
