Sidhu Moose Wala’s new song “I’m Better Now” is heart wrenching and filled with certain unique elements that you can’t quite miss out on. With the music given by Snappy and labelled by T-Series, this song has reached 2.7 million views on YouTube. This is a great achievement for pop music in India.

The song starts with the lyrics “Ve mein change aan, tethon door hokey” (I’m better now being away from you). The first line itself reveals the themes of the song, them being separation, loss and lament over love. The music video as well does justice to this exceptional song. Though the song is about sadness and acceptances of one’s reality, the colours of the music video are overtly bright at times surely juxtaposing the very idea of grief. With Sidhu being in the lead role himself, the female lead has been played by Angela Krislinzki. The two show a love story which undergoes a rough patch and eventually separation. Though Sidhu goes up to become a great man, the woman is shown to be waiting on him and the other rich people at a restaurant. This hurts their sentiments while recall all the good times they had spent together.

The song is also charting on great platforms like iTunes and Apple Music. While the lyrics are mostly in Punjabi, it is understandable and has been accepted by people who are not very fluent in it since the beats are extremely catchy. The entire song makes you sway even though the theme haunts you dearly. This song is a perfect mixture of happiness and lament. Happiness for the new life that Sidhu’s character is carrying on with, and sadness because the separation between him and the woman is painful.

The music director of the music video is Teji Sandhu. The music video has been incorporated really well which makes the song quite a bop in itself. The music video successfully portrays the ill luck of the two lovers. The camera works with slower and faster movements make the music video very unique and not very still or boring. The music video, overall has done quite a good job, and complemented the song very well.

Over all, this song is a must watch and a must listen. Even if you are not a Sidhu fan, the song would remind you of your own experiences and how you’ve been successful in achieving happiness despite the hard times that you’ve been through!
