After Happy Happy and Patola, the third song from the Abhinay Deo’s Blackmail starring Irrfan Khan is finally out. While in Happy Happy we got to see Irrfan brilliantly play the lost, confused and helpless person, Patola is a wedding song.
Badla shows a completely different side of Irrfan. It’s a quirky, comic song but showcases the angrier side of the actor. We can see a furious Irrfan with a hammer in hand breaking a glass, ripping apart a pillow, wearing a yellow helmet. There are glimpses of him killing someone and crying out loud furiously behind what looks like a jail. As the name suggests, the song seems to be based on revenge.The visuals of the song look grungy.
The film is said to be a dark comedy and speaking about the same director Abhinay says, that life itself is a dark comedy according to him. It’s a part of our lives but we haven’t seen it in films. Everyone’s life is actually a dark comedy so it’s time we bring it to people.He said he’s made an effort to present this in an entertaining way.
The track is sung by music composer Amit Trivedi and rapper Divine, also composed by Amit Trivedi and penned by the Amitabh Bhattacharya. The beats of the song are catchy.The rage and feeling of revenge have been brought across in the song too.
Blackmail stars an ensemble cast of Irrfan Khan, Kirti Kulhari, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh, Omi Vaidya, Anuja Sathe, Pradhuman Singh Mall and Gajraj Rao among others. It is produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Deo’s RDP Motion Pictures. The film is set to release on April 6.
