Fans of actor-politician Govinda are in for a treat, even as a song from his upcoming film Fryday has been launched, and has him shaking a leg after a pretty long time. The prolific actor’s nonchalant dance moves from his movies in the 1990s are etched in the minds of countless fans who have enjoyed watching him during those years. The new song from his upcoming film has him donning the avatar of a hip-hop artist.

The song is called Jimmy Choo, and has been composed by Milind Gaba. The main parts have been sung by Priyanka Goyat, while a rap portion has been provided by Fazilpuria. Rossh is responsible for the lyrics of this new track.

Jimmy Choo from Fryday is a party number. It has your usual hip-hop beats that are mixed with regular electronic sounds. The beat-drop is well timed, but the overall song is nothing out of the ordinary. Same can be said about Priyanka Goyat’s singing performance. There’s no complain about her singing ability, but her performance in this one cannot be called great.

And then there’s the rap by Fazilpuria. If you know his style, it’s extremely identical to that of Yo Yo Honey Singh. The Haryanvi accent aside, even the way he utters his raps reminds you of Honey Singh. However, where he shines is in the lyrics of his raps. They’re the only thing that sounds fresh in this song.

The lines, “Re dedh lakh ki ainak maange. 40 hazaar ki jutti. Bhai do chaar peg peeke isne, chadhgi ghani kasooti. Re Dita vita chhod Inke, piche saara zamana hai. Planning meri aakhar, island naam tere karwana hai,” have a slightly funny tone to them, and this is what grabs your attention the most. Same can also be said about the rest of the song’s lyrics.

Govinda can be seen dancing alongside the film’s other lead Varun Sharma and Natasa Stankovic. His dance moves are impressive as always, but Stankovic’s performance also deserves praise. Jimmy Choo is the second song to have been released from the film’s album. The first one is called Chotey Bade, and has been composed by Ankit Tiwari.

Fryday is a comedy film directed by Abhishek Dogra of Dolly Ki Doli fame. It is slated to release on October 12.
