Currently trending on YouTube, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma’s “Khatar Patar” is hitting the chords for all the right reasons. The movie ‘Sui Dhaaga’ revolves around a small-town young man who starts his own garment business with his wife and becomes self-reliant. “Khatar Patar” is the second song to be released from the soundtrack and has seen more than 3 million views since its release on 8 September 2018. The song is simple and sweet, with a very important lesson hidden in it.

The song has been sung by Papon, who has given us some great songs in the past. The lyrics have been written by Varun Grover, and the music has been composed by the evergreen Anu Malik.

The two-minute song as released begins with Mauji (played by Varun Dhawan) bringing in a sewing machine and setting up his own garment business. The lyrics are in everyday Hindi and are about the need of passion, hard work, patience and perseverance to achieve something. The language of ‘sewing and embroidery’ is an important part of the song, as the movie is centred on the launching of a garment business. One will see the ray of hope and positivity that is reflected in the song, even when one is in difficulties – which makes the entire plot of the movie come alive.

The music video is very simple yet heartwarming. Set in a small town, Mauji and Mamta (played by Anushka Sharma) set up their business on the courtyard of the abandoned house. They take the help of the local artisans to sew and stitch, bringing in the element of social entrepreneurship in the song. The frame rolls over the spreads of cloths set out to dry, showing us how the entire community gradually becomes much more self-reliant as they produce their own cloth. As a result, Mauji finally earns his respect back from the villagers. The video ends with him naming his company, “Sui Dhaaga Made in India”.

With a fresh and unexpected Varun Dhawan-Anushka Sharma pairing, a brand-new storyline and lovely songs such as “Chaav Lagaa” and “Khatar Patar” – the movie predicts success. We hope much more from the movie, which will be released on 28 September 2018.
