Milegi Milegi is the name of a new song from the soundtrack of the upcoming film Stree. It’s a promotional song that features the movie’s lead cast, which includes Rajkumar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi.
The song has been sung by Mika Singh in his trademark nonchalant fashion. This is what adds the most appeal to this track. Mika has proved time and again that this unique voice and his brimming energy are capable enough to convert any regular song into an unforgettable one.
Milegi Milegi has been composed by the duo of Sachin and Jigar who have also graced it with their own vocals. And the lyrics for it have been penned by Vayu. The lyrics of this song are talking about an elusive apsara who is hard to find. Hence the words, “Milegi Milegi.”
The song starts of with the lines, “Haaye tere baare mein toh sab se suna hai.
Sabko pata hai ki tu apsara hai.
Milti kahaan hai tu kab se khada hai
Aashiq tera haaye bechara” and progresses towards, “Milegi milegi.
Tujhe bhi milegi.
Mujhe bhi milegi.
Hoga chamatkaar.”
The song gives out a party vibe from start to end. The use of western and eastern influences in the music creates a great blend that makes it catchy. And the music video is also extremely pleasing.
It starts off with Pankaj Tripathi’s character sitting on a throne and Shraddha’s character arriving as a dancer. Her dance moves though, are extremely off beat, and they incite a sense of quirkiness to the whole affair. She does deserve paludits for her excellent dance performance in this song.
Stree is an upcoming horror comedy produced by Raj and D.K. who are known for having directed popular flicks like Go Goa Gone, 99, Shor In The City, Happy Ending and A Gentleman. However this film is being directed by Amar Kaushik, while the writing has been done by Raj and D.K.
Stree is based on the urban legend of Nale Ba, which is about a witch who knocks on people’s doors at the night. Its trailer was released only a few days ago, and was received very well due to its unique horror comedy nature.
Stree will be released on August 31, so expect some new Sachin-Jigar tracks being released in the weeks to come.
